Taking a break in between assignments, soldiers Jericho and Hunter have been watching and feeding a wild female cougar.  Every day that the cougar comes around, the closer to the men she gets until finally, hurt, she allows the men to lead her inside where they promptly put her in a utility room.  Minutes later, Jericho and Hunter are confronted with the sight of a beautiful, but nearly naked woman hungrily eating in their kitchen and the cougar they have been feeding is gone.  Not sure why this woman, Kaya is in their cabin, both men promise her protection.  When she runs away in fear, the men have no choice but to go after her – after all, it is snowing and freezing cold.  They find Kaya almost hypothermic and return with her to their cabin.  It is there that they learn the truth – the woman they desire is a cougar.

Having first met Maya Banks’ shape shifters with an earlier release, Golden Eyes, from Loose Id, I knew I was in for a great story.  To find out that Ms. Banks not only released another shape shifter story along with a ménage plot set me off into reading heaven.

Kaya has not been around humans very much and those she remembers were mean to her.  Timid and innocent, she is unsure of her men at first but learn to love and trust them unconditionally.  Anything but a Lolita, Kaya’s true love for Jericho and Hunter was naïve yet womanly.  She gave her entire heart and to her, that meant forever.  Hunter and Jericho were anything but innocent and had been burned before.  Used to sharing their women, these two men were completely enamored of Kaya and the feelings she invoked in them.  Heady loves scenes combined with steamy, sensual touches add to the charm that is the book Amber Eyes.  I loved it.
