Six long years…

It’s been awhile since Mace Dylan had seen Sinjin.  His employers wanted him to convince Sinjin to help them catch a notorious crime lord whom she had been associated with before she had been sent to prison.  Reluctantly, Mace agreed to recruit Sinjin but this time he was determined to keep a lock on his heart by maintaining a sickly professional relationship with her; which proved to be much easier said than done the moment Mace saw Sinjin again after so many years apart.

One day at a time…

Hardened from her life in the prison where she was the only female, Sinjin knew what it took to survive both physically and mentally.  After six long, harsh years Sinjin never expected to feel the sunshine on her skin again anytime soon.  So it was a little shocking that the same group who put in prison approached her with a proposition that promised her freedom if she helped to capture a very important man from her past.  And, if that wasn’t enough to deal with she had to work with Mace Dylan, her lover who had betrayed her six years ago.

Wow! Sin is not a four-letter word was spectacular novel.  The plot was filled with intense, non-stop action and a smoking hot romance.  Author Aliyah Burke successfully won me over by portraying Mace’s anguish as he struggled with his betrayal concerning Sinjin which inadvertently resulted in her going to prison.  It was refreshing to see a hero who was a true alpha through and though yet was able to showcase a vulnerable side.  Readers, Sinjin will pull at your heart strings.  This heroine was a strong survivor.  After what she had endured in prison it was amazing that she hadn’t broken under pressure.  Instead, she developed a kick-ass surviving attitude.  And, when these two came together their passion was hot enough to melt ice.  Sin is not a four-letter word was a fantastic read and should not be missed. I can’t wait to see what Ms. Burke will come up with next – hopefully this will not be the last time I see Sinjin and Mace.
