Severus was not born a slave but became one when his stepfather sold him.  Now he works in the fields and while he longs for his freedom, he is not discontent per say.  When a woman comes to him in the dead of night and warns of a plot to use him for nefarious means, Severus is unsure of his future but follows along with the plans his owners have made.  As luck would have it, Severus is actually base born, the son of his owner and half brother to his mystery woman’s husband.  He has been told to impregnate his brother’s wife Lydia since his half brother is unable to perform sexually with a woman.  Severus knows that as soon as Lydia shows signs of being with child his life will be null and void.  But Severus has no choice – no one else will touch what is his and Lydia is his.

Severus and Lydia embark upon a sensual journey neither envisioned.  Both knew the futility of falling love but were unable to make their hearts understand.  Forced into a situation they know might end with their deaths, they have no choice but to depend on the other for emotional stability and support.  Denying their passion is not a choice and so they do the only feasible thing they can think of to do.  They ESCAPE TO LOVE.

Lindsay Townsend’s ability to weave historical tales with the amount of passion and sensuality has me completely hooked.  ESCAPE TO LOVE is timeless and true love lasts forever and is able to scale all heights.  Severus and Lydia beat the odds and for that I am glad.
