In this anthology, Susan Sailors explores a number of different relationships, all tied together by a single theme -  what will you do if you find THE ONE?

In DELIGHTING IN YOUR COMPANY Sarah and Daniel were married in another life.  Daniel finds Sarah again, but now he’s a ghost and she isn’t. Sarah must rediscover her memories of Daniel and decide whether she wants to go on being Daniel’s wife or living in the present with a human.

In THANK THE GODDESS, the narrator is a newly turned vampire.  Her Sire, Erik, became a vampire so that he could wait for her reincarnated self to reappear.  After all, they were married once before and he wants to be her one and only again.  Her best friend, Joshua, is a priest and, when called in to help with their fledgling relationship, she finally understands his childhood love for her.  She can see and understand the difference between true love, that transcends time, and the love of a friend that always provides a security net when change comes knocking.

In IF ONLY IN MY DREAMS, Diana realizes that her godfather, David, is not what he seems.  He hasn’t changed in the 10 years since her parents died and she became his ward.  And, to say that she’s had a few sensuous dreams about him would be an understatement.  But he is not what he seems and, when he claims Diana.

In POSEIDON’S BRIDE, Layla is a human woman who attracts the attention of Poseiden, God of the Sea.  Everyone knows that the Greek gods are a pretty adventuresome crowd.  So what will she have to do to prove her love for Poseidon?

The stories are light and classically romantic.  The characters are well defined and when you read their stories, you know who they are and how they will act.   These couples are clearly meant to be together, so there’s not much struggle between them.  And that’s the rub.

Maybe this is just me, but I like a little struggle, some uncertainty, a little rejection, to spice up the road to the HEA.  These stories began from a great premise, but there wasn’t enough conflict for me to feel live that true love had to do anything to survive and blossom.  I wanted to see more than I found you, I love you, the end.

Susan Sailors creates four different and distinct worlds in which her stories unfold.  Now I’d like to see her flex her muscle a bit and dig a little deeper to give her characters the chance to really live and breathe.
