Chasing down the rich party-girl soon to be his stepsister and rescuing her from kidnappers was not Hunter’s idea, not by a long shot.  Still, he agreed to help when his father asked, and now he’ll see the mission through.

Once he finds the heiress in question, though, she proves to be not quite as helpless as he expected – far from it.  It seems there is much more to Mila than meets the eye, and those secrets connect Mila and Hunter in ways they never expected.

From the moment they meet, the sparks fly – on so many levels.  Hunter and Mila cannot deny the attraction that consumes them, and soon prove they are more than a match for each other.

Now if they can just stay alive long enough to explore that attraction…

Oh my!  When I stated above that the sparks fly, it was no understatement!  Half the fun in reading HUNTING MILA was watching the bickering between John Hunter and Mila Simmons.  I was reminded more than once of the chemistry between Han Solo and Princess Leia in the Star Wars saga – in a very good way.  *grin*

I absolutely loved that Mila is a woman who can take care of herself.  She might have been kidnapped, but she is by no means anybody’s victim.  Mila can kick butt and look great doing it – a fact that definitely drives Hunter wild, attracting him while at the same time worrying him to death.

Hunter is a loner, and alpha male not looking for connections – even familial ones.  Meeting Mila changes all that for him as he finds a woman whose company and love he craves against his better judgment.  Watching this warrior type fall hard is immensely satisfying – almost as satisfying as those no-holds-barred love scenes between Mila and Hunter!

To top it all off, Melissa Schroeder weaves a bit of suspense and action adventure through the plot, complete with diabolical villain, long-hidden mysteries, and a great fight scene.

As the story closes, we enjoy a happy ending for our couple, but we also see other relationships mended.  HUNTING MILA is a roller coaster ride full of action and romance that will keep you on the edge of your seat and make your heart go pitter patter.
